Question: Is this dog legit?
I don't think so. I got this pic emailed to me, and, much as I try to trust every forwarded email, I have my doubts. The accompanying text says the dog weighs a remarkable 280 pounds. I'm thinking if this pic is for real, the dog weighs 1280 pounds.
Either I'm frightened by a) this dog, or b) the guy who would spend time carefully photoshopping this dog.
Wait. Maybe they're just tiny people.
I believe the truth lies in the dog's shadow. If he is about up to the guys shoulder, his shadow should extend a bit closer to the head of the man, rather than his feet. Also upon clicking on the picture, there seems to be a bit of blur and smudging around the legs of the dog. Telltale signs of photoshop! But cool though! :-) Thanks for the post

No Andrew, You're wrong!!!! The secret is as Brant intuited... These are "little people" walking a normal dog and a miniature pony. The shadow is explained by the fact that Little people often have disproportionate limbs or other body parts and their shadows are very inconsistent!
THis is a REAL PHOTO! I have an uncle in Zambia who knows these people personally and they recently were killed in the national violence over there... The tragedy is that they have millions of dollars in US funds that they need to quickly move into a bank so that the Guerrilla Forces can not torture their poor little oprhaned children into revealing the location of these funds...
If you would like to help, email your bank name and personal information including account numbers and PINs to Brant.

Wow, this really is a small world Rev Jeff. I once had a friend whose cousin on her step dad's side was married to a women whose brother's ex-girlfriend's daughter got 7 cents every time someone forwarded her picture from a guy who previously worked for the make a wish foundation but now works at Gap (who also sent me a check for forwarding their email) who actually shot a commercial in Africa with a camera man who once was their neighbor in the UK. I wonder if the camera guy met your uncle at their annual fundraiser for people whose animals are eating them out of house and home.

Alexandra --
You've GOT to do something like that. I would post it. Maybe substitute your terrier for the horse, and call it "The REAL World's Largest Dog".
That would be classic. Do it! Do it! brant@wayfm.com

My guess is this dog is a Mastiff, but I do agree that it looks photoshopped -- especially since the resolution of the dog is better than the resolution of the rest of the image. Also, the shadow and smudging, etc. that Andrew mentions. Cool photo tho.
