Yeah the people who don't want to believe the Bible mis-represent the facts all the time under the guise of scientific inquiry - like evolution (macro neo-darwinism) or even to claim Jesus never existed and was never Crucified although apart from the Bible account is the most documented historical fact there is - Ever learning and never coming to the knowledge of the truth - My wife took the pledge and was pure when we married - I praise God for that -

I read the article and I have a slightly different take on the meaning. The fact that the pledges had no affect among teens with similar convictions tells me that it is the convictions, not the pledge that makes a difference. I think this is why abstinence only sex ed. fails. If a teen lacks the convictions, they are unlikely to make good choices and if they have convictions, they don't need to take a pledge. Certainly, however, they did need to make clear that they were comparing teens with similar convictions to understand this meaning. This again goes to show, it is what in your heart that matters, not what you wear on your t-shirt or bumber.

Brent- I've been married 34 years. Believe me, you will NEVER get your self-worth or your significance from your spouse. Lowering your expectations is one way to phrase it, but it's more like Your Spouse Ain't God. He/She will never fill that God hole. And this is something that I have needed to re-visit over and over again. And, praise God, I am to the point, finally, that only death will separate me from my dear husband, and then only for a short time!!! WOW!!!!
